Starting to play around a little bit here and there with some macro photography and photographing snowflakes. No two are exactly the same...or so the saying goes. The snowflakes that fell today were much easier to photograph today and it wasn't nearly as bitterly cold to photograph them today. Still really cold, but not quite as cold as yesterday.

This was also taken this afternoon as I set out in the middle of a winter storm. Only about 10 minutes or so though from where I live. I didn't want to venture out too far from home. Granted on good road/weather conditions it would only take about 10 - 15 minutes max to get to this location...today thought a totally different story when it comes to driving out in the country.

I don't know why I like old fence posts, but I do. Maybe it's because I'd like to know the story behind the history of the post. This photo was taken this afternoon during a crazy winter storm that went through Central Illinois.

I have done well so far in raising her as a Chicago Bears fan. :) She is definitely a die hard fan and especially of #54 Brian Urlacher. Every game she keeps her eyes peeled for him on the field and on the sidelines. She even refers to him on a first name basis like we are long time friends. Totally cracks me up. Just one other reason why I love her so.

This snowflake looks like it is missing a piece. Wonder if it lost a part of itself as it tumbled down from above? I admit snowflake pictures are so fun to take. And trying to find the perfect ones to photograph just adds to the fun. :)

Snowflake or a Flower???

This is my very first attempt at taking a macro photo of a snowflake. I'd say not too bad overall. I love how this particular snowflake looks like a flower. Perhaps a sign that spring is not too far off now! Keeping my fingers crossed for sure!

Cera enlisted us to take her Senior Portraits. She wanted something outdoors, and Friends Creek for the first session was a perfect opportunity for us to take some gorgeous photos of her with all the glory Mother Nature has to offer.

For her second photo session we opted for Scovill Gardens. The flowers were in bloom at this time of the year and they made a stunning natural backdrop presented to us from Mother Nature herself.
